Cleveland Adds Thomas Bryant, Killian Hayes
The Cleveland Cavaliers, who posted the Eastern Conference's best regular-season record but lost in the second round to the Indiana Pacers, have added rotation depth this offseason. Cleveland agreed to a one-year deal with veteran center Thomas Bryant, who played a reserve role for the Pacers during their run to the NBA Finals and will provide experienced frontcourt depth behind Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. The Cavs also signed former No. 7 overall pick Killian Hayes to add point-guard depth; Hayes averaged 9.0 points and 5.2 assists in six games last season and offers upside despite inconsistent three-point shooting. Earlier moves this offseason included re-signing Larry Nance Jr., acquiring Lonzo Ball, and losing Ty Jerome and Isaac Okoro. Cleveland opens training camp September 30 and begins preseason play in October, and the roster currently has one standard spot plus a two-way slot available.
