BTS member Suga, also known as Min Yoongi, has been fined for operating an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol but will not face a trial. On August 6, Suga was found by police after falling off his scooter in Seoul, with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.227%, nearly three times the legal limit. The South Korean legal system allowed for a summary indictment, meaning Suga received his penalty without a formal trial. Following the incident, Suga expressed remorse and apologized to fans and his management agency, BigHit Entertainment. No disciplinary actions were taken by his military service workplace since the incident occurred outside of his official duties. The fines for his offense could range between 10 million won ($7,442) and 20 million won ($14,884).
