Sister Charged in Murder of Seven-Year-Old

Jessie Jane Lilburn, a seven-year-old girl, was fatally stabbed by her 13-year-old sister in Taylor, Michigan, following an argument over a note about flushing the toilet. The incident occurred on September 28 while their parents were out, and the older sister allegedly waited in the bathroom before attacking Jessie Jane with a butcher knife and a hunting knife, stabbing her more than ten times. Despite the siblings having normal arguments in the past, their father, Jason Lilburn, expressed disbelief at the violence that ensued, describing it as 'totally unexpected'. Following the tragic event, a memorial was established in their yard to honor Jessie Jane.
