PCB Denies NOCs to Top Cricketers for Global T20

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to senior players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, preventing them from participating in the upcoming Global T20 League in Canada. The decision follows Pakistan's early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024 and aims to manage the players' workload given the packed international schedule from August 2024 to March 2025, including nine ICC World Test Championship matches, the ICC Champions Trophy, 14 ODIs, and nine T20Is. The PCB consulted with the players and the selection committee before making this decision. The board has allowed NOCs for players not involved in all three formats, such as Mohammad Amir and Asif Ali. This decision underscores the prioritization of national commitments over participation in foreign leagues.
