Seattle Police Intensify Drug Operations in Chinatown
Seattle Police have intensified their narcotics operations in the Chinatown-International District, resulting in the arrest of three individuals during separate stings. On January 6, officers apprehended two men near 12th Avenue and South King Street; a 49-year-old felon was found with a loaded handgun and fentanyl, while a 40-year-old man had 18 grams of methamphetamine. Both were booked into King County Jail on narcotics charges. On January 11, a 56-year-old woman was arrested during a surveillance operation and found with 8.5 grams of fentanyl packaged in 65 bundles. These operations are part of a broader police effort, following previous arrests in December, to address drug issues in the area. The recent stings have led to a total of 21 arrests in the neighborhood.
