Puppies Rescued From Burning Car in Palmdale

In Palmdale, eight Shepherd puppies were rescued by firefighters from under a burning car and are receiving care from the Best Friends Animal Society. The puppies, vulnerable to illness in crowded shelters, were transferred to foster homes, with two needing specialized care in a neonatal unit. They will be available for adoption in December. Separately, in Washington, a crate containing five Husky puppies fell from a truck on Highway 101, resulting in one puppy's death and two others needing veterinary care. The remaining puppies scattered, and efforts are ongoing to locate them. The crate owner was cited for unsecured load but faces no criminal charges.
