Detours, Closures Launched for Hwy 53, I-35, Gilroy Interchanges

Construction projects are set to affect traffic in various regions across the U.S. In Minnesota, the Department of Transportation will initiate work on Highway 53 in Eveleth starting April 17, including a traffic detour through Highway 37 due to bridge demolitions. Meanwhile, in Texas, the I-35 NEX Expansion Project will close a section of the northbound I-35 Frontage Road overnight from April 10 to 11, with detours available. Additionally, in California, two roads in Gilroy will permanently close on April 16 as part of a project to improve the interchange at highways 101 and 25, which is aimed at enhancing traffic flow and safety due to increasing congestion. The Gilroy project will include an extended off-ramp and is expected to be completed by late 2027. Drivers are advised to follow posted detour signs and stay updated through local transportation authority websites.
