British Hopes Rise at Queen's Club Tennis
British tennis stars Katie Boulter, Heather Watson, and Emma Raducanu are all competing for quarter-final spots at Queen’s Club, marking the WTA’s return to the venue since 1973. Boulter, the British No. 1 and two-time Nottingham Open champion, faces fifth seed Diana Shnaider as she aims to become the first British woman to win at Queen’s since 1969. Raducanu continues her singles campaign against Rebecca Sramkova, who previously upset reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, while Watson faces 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina. In doubles, Boulter and Raducanu, nicknamed ‘Boultercanu,’ started strong but exited in the quarter-finals. In the men’s draw, British No 1 Jack Draper, currently ranked fifth in the world, is also in strong form ahead of Wimbledon. Internationally, Madison Keys seeks a second Grand Slam after her Australian Open win, and Carlos Alcaraz aims to defend his Wimbledon and Queen’s titles.
