Beggars Group and Secretly Launch Cargo Distribution

Cargo Records UK, Beggars Group, and Secretly Distribution have formed a new independent distribution company called Cargo Independent Distribution (CID) to enhance their market presence in the UK. Led by Phil Hill, CID will provide physical distribution and sales support to Secretly Group and its affiliates, along with sales representation for Beggars Group partner labels. The partnership aims to bolster investments in technology and personnel while maintaining relationships with existing fulfillment partners like Proper/Utopia. CID will manage a diverse roster of labels, including Fire Records, Hyperdub, and Sub Pop, and is committed to preserving an independent distribution model. Both Secretly Distribution and Beggars Group expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing their dedication to supporting independent artists and labels. This strategic alliance marks a significant shift in the UK independent music distribution landscape.
