Manchester United has formed a strategic partnership with Trafford Council and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) to redevelop Old Trafford and the surrounding Trafford Wharfside area. The initiative aims to create a world-class stadium with a capacity of 100,000, along with plans for approximately 5,000 new homes and improved transportation links. An advisory team, led by an independent director, will support the project, ensuring it aligns with local development strategies and maximizing social and economic benefits. Lord Sebastian Coe chairs a task force that will assess whether to proceed with a £2 billion stadium plan by the end of 2024.
