Car Bomb Kills Security Official at Zaporozhye Plant

Andrey Korotky, a senior security official at the Russian-controlled Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, was killed in a car bombing, which Ukrainian military intelligence has suggested was a targeted attack. The explosion was caused by an improvised device placed under his vehicle, and Korotky died from his injuries in a nearby hospital. Ukrainian military intelligence labeled him a 'war criminal' and a 'collaborator' with Russia, though they stopped short of directly claiming responsibility for the attack. Russian officials condemned the incident as a 'terrorist act' and have opened a murder investigation. The plant, seized by Russia in March 2022, has been a focal point of tension, with both Ukrainian and Russian sides frequently accusing each other of attacks.
