Bangladesh Announces Squad for ICC Champions Trophy

Bangladesh has announced their squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, omitting veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das. Shakib's exclusion follows his suspension from bowling due to a suspect bowling action, potentially marking the end of his illustrious 18-year international career. Litton Das's omission is attributed to his prolonged poor form, with the selectors opting for younger and more in-form players. Bangladesh's chief selector, Gazi Ashraf Hossain, emphasized the need for in-form top-order batters for the batting-friendly conditions expected at the tournament. The squad will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto and includes returnees Mushfiqur Rahim and Mustafizur Rahman. The tournament will be hosted by Pakistan, with Bangladesh's opening match against India taking place in Dubai on February 20.
