Dermot McCabe Confirmed New Cavan Manager, Andy Moran Expected Mayo Manager

Dermot McCabe has been appointed as the new Cavan senior football manager on a three-year term, succeeding Raymond Galligan who stepped down after two years. McCabe, a former Cavan player who won an Ulster Senior Football title and an All-Star in 1997, leaves his role as Westmeath manager to take up the position with his native county. He has extensive experience, having been part of Cavan's minor and senior management teams, including during their 2020 Ulster Championship win. Meanwhile, Andy Moran is set to become the Mayo manager, pending ratification, replacing Kevin McStay after Mayo exited the All-Ireland at the group stage. Moran, a decorated former Mayo player and Footballer of the Year in 2017, has previously managed Leitrim and coached Monaghan. Both appointments reflect a continuation of leadership transitions following recent All-Ireland championship exits for their respective counties.
