Paul Mescal on Acting with Denzel

In preparation for his role in 'Gladiator II,' Paul Mescal expressed his initial anxiety about acting alongside Denzel Washington, feeling overwhelmed on the day Washington was on set. Mescal admitted to feeling 'incapacitated' by the pressure, but Washington praised him as a professional, highlighting Mescal's ability to engage with his performance. Director Ridley Scott noted that Mescal was astonished by the scale of the production, particularly the life-size replica of the Colosseum in Malta, which he described as nearly overwhelming. The sequel will see Mescal portray Lucius, the son of Lucilla and Maximus, as he returns to Rome as a gladiator.
