Kerala High Court Bans Vlogging at Guruvayur Temple

The Kerala High Court has issued a directive banning videography by vloggers in the Nadapanthal of the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple, permitting only recordings related to marriage functions and other religious ceremonies. This decision follows a complaint by devotees regarding a Muslim vlogger, Jasna Salim, who was seen cutting a birthday cake and arguing with devotees in the temple courtyard, actions deemed disrespectful and in violation of the Kerala Hindu Places of Public Worship Act. The court emphasized that the temple is a special security zone and should be free from disturbances, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. It has instructed the Guruvayur Devaswom Managing Committee to enforce this ban and seek police assistance if necessary.
