Panthers’ Verhaeghe Hosts Stanley Cup Event for Special Needs Charities

Florida Panthers forward Carter Verhaeghe celebrated his third Stanley Cup championship by hosting a special day with the Cup at the Panthers' practice facility in South Florida. He invited members of Best Buddies International, Special Olympics Florida, and the Panthers' Adaptive Hockey Team for an inclusive skating session, where participants enjoyed spending time together and taking photos with the Stanley Cup. Verhaeghe expressed how meaningful it was to share the Cup with the community that has become his home, emphasizing the joy of seeing everyone included and making new friends. The event also included a tour of the Panthers' locker room and a private party with family and teammates. Panthers mascot Stanley C. Panther joined in the festivities, highlighting the team's commitment to community engagement and support for people with special needs. Verhaeghe, one of six active NHL players with three Stanley Cups, said he gained as much happiness from the event as the participants did.
