Double Shooting at Baltimore Senior Living Facility Leaves One Dead, Another Critically Injured

A shooting at the Pleasant View Gardens senior living apartment complex in Baltimore resulted in the death of 79-year-old Clyde Barnes and left a 72-year-old man critically injured. The suspected shooter, 65-year-old Norman Waker, was arrested at the scene during a SWAT sweep shortly after the incident occurred on February 20. Authorities confirmed Waker is a resident of the facility and were able to apprehend him with help from witnesses who identified him as the shooter. While the motive for the shooting remains unclear, police have ruled out any connection to an abandoned wheelchair found nearby. The investigation is ongoing, and streets in the vicinity were temporarily closed as authorities secured the area. The injured man was transported to a local hospital and was able to speak with officers before being treated.
