Waymo Expands Autonomous Vehicle Production in Arizona, Plans DC Launch by 2026

Waymo is significantly expanding its autonomous ride-hailing service, Waymo One, which currently operates in San Francisco, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Austin, and will launch in Atlanta, Miami, and Washington, DC by 2026. To support this growth, Waymo is partnering with Magna International to open a 239,000-square-foot autonomous vehicle factory in Mesa, Arizona, which will create hundreds of local jobs. The Mesa plant will produce thousands of fully autonomous Jaguar I-PACE vehicles annually, all designed and assembled in the U.S., with plans to integrate Waymo's technology into new platforms like the Zeekr RT. This facility is positioned as the epicenter of Waymo’s future growth and will help scale its fleet to meet increasing demand.
