Tennessee Advances to Sweet 16, Defeats UCLA 67-58
The University of Tennessee's men's basketball team, seeded No. 2, advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament after defeating No. 7 seed UCLA 67-58. Chaz Lanier led the Vols with 20 points and set a new program record for single-season three-pointers with 120, surpassing Chris Lofton's previous record. Tennessee took control of the game in the second half, extending their lead to as much as 19 points, despite losing the turnover battle 18-11. Zakai Zeigler and Jordan Gainey also contributed significantly, adding 15 and 13 points, respectively. The victory marks Tennessee's third consecutive Sweet 16 appearance, a first for the program. They will face either No. 3 seed Kentucky or No. 6 seed Illinois next weekend in Indianapolis.
