Colorado Springs Offers Free Summer Bus Rides

Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) in Colorado Springs will offer free rides on all buses and paratransit services from June 1 to August 31, 2025, as part of the 'Zero Fare for Better Air' program. This initiative, supported by the Zero Fare Transit Grant enabled by Senate Bill 24-032, aims to promote public transportation and reduce vehicle emissions during the high ozone summer months. This marks the fourth consecutive year of the program, which has seen increasing ridership, reaching a record of 366,930 rides in 2023. Elaine Sheridan from MMT highlights the program's dual goals of improving air quality and making transit more accessible. MMT provides tools like the RideMMT app to assist new riders and emphasizes the bike-friendly nature of their services. Lan Rao, Transit Division Manager, encourages residents to take advantage of this opportunity for free transportation.
