Hope Christian Teacher Arrested for Multiple Child Sexual Abuse Charges in Albuquerque

Kelly McEachran, a 66-year-old teacher at Hope Christian Elementary in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been arrested and charged with criminal sexual contact and penetration of a minor after an 11-year-old student reported being inappropriately touched multiple times over several months. The allegations emerged in April 2025 when the student informed her parents, leading to McEachran being placed on administrative leave and an arrest warrant being issued after he was found out of state. Albuquerque Police Department officials indicated there may be additional victims and encouraged anyone with related information to come forward. McEachran's attorney denies the allegations and expressed surprise at the arrest, noting McEachran's 35 years of respected service at the school. The school and police have cooperated to prioritize the safety of students throughout the investigation.
