Mother Sentenced for Neglect Leading to Daughter's Death

During a fatal accident inquiry, it was revealed that Sharon Goldie, 49, left her seriously ill daughter Robyn, 13, watching the TV quiz show 'Tipping Point' while she went out drinking. Goldie dismissed Robyn's symptoms as a mere 'stomach bug' and refused to seek medical help, believing she was exaggerating. When Goldie returned home, she found Robyn unresponsive on the couch, with rigor mortis already set in. Medical examinations later confirmed that Robyn had developed peritonitis due to a perforated duodenal ulcer.
