Michelin Guide Atlanta Expands to 57 Restaurants

The 2024 Atlanta Michelin Guide has awarded four new restaurants, O By Brush, Omakase Table, Spring, and Staplehouse, each with a Michelin star, increasing the city's total to nine starred establishments. Michelin's criteria focus on the quality of ingredients, harmony of flavors, and the chef's personality expressed through cuisine. Notably, the guide appears to favor omakase and Asian cuisines, with a significant number of such restaurants receiving stars or Bib Gourmand distinctions, which recognize skillful cooking at moderate prices. Despite this, some restaurants like The Deer and the Dove and Aria, praised for their unique culinary visions, were overlooked for a Michelin star. The guide now features 57 restaurants, with 25 different cuisines represented, but no establishments received two or three stars. The Michelin endorsement is expected to bring increased recognition and business to the honored restaurants.
