Doc Rivers to Coach NBA All-Star Game in 2024

Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers will lead the Eastern Conference All-Stars in the 2024 NBA All-Star game, assuming the Bucks hold onto the conference's second-best record by February. It would be Rivers' fourth time coaching in the All-Star Game; he previously coached in 2008, 2011 and 2021. This follows the 'Riley Rule', which states a coach cannot participate in two consecutive All-Star games, hence why Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla – who led the East in 2023 – will not be eligible this year. If Rivers were to be awarded the All-Star bonus and ring, he has said he will give them to former Bucks coach Adrian Griffin, who was fired despite leading the team to a 30-13 record.
