Israel Warns Citizens of Security Threats at Eurovision 2025 in Switzerland

Israel's National Security Council (NSC) has issued a travel advisory for Israeli citizens attending the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, warning of heightened security risks due to potential terrorist threats and anti-Israel protests. The NSC highlighted that international events like Eurovision attract attention from terrorist groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran, who have attempted attacks on Israelis and Jews abroad. Switzerland has experienced over 360 anti-Israel protests in the past year, with more expected during the event, potentially escalating into violence. Israelis are advised to avoid large Israeli-affiliated events without security, stay away from protests, avoid displaying Israeli or Jewish symbols, and refrain from discussing military service or Israeli security matters publicly. The council also recommends remaining vigilant, following local security instructions, and downloading the Home Front Command app for real-time updates. These precautions aim to mitigate risks amid ongoing tensions following the October 2023 terror attacks and the Gaza conflict.
