Nine Family Members Die in Canal Crash

Nine family members, including six children, died in a tragic crash when their overloaded SUV ran off the road, hit a guardrail, and flipped into a canal in Belle Glade, Florida, on Monday evening. The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. as the family was heading to the airport after a visit. The driver, Pamela Wiggins, who would have turned 57 the next day, failed to negotiate a sharp left turn for undetermined reasons. The lone survivor, 26-year-old Jorden Hall, is hospitalized in serious condition. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the accident. First responders described the scene as one of the most difficult they have encountered.
