Sharon & Ozzy Documentary Premieres After Ozzy's Death
Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home is a one-hour BBC documentary filmed over three years and retooled as a one-off after Ozzy Osbourne's death; it follows the couple's return from Los Angeles to their Buckinghamshire home and chronicles the final chapter of his life. The intimate film includes affectionate moments, jokes and hand-written love notes, and confronts his declining health — Parkinson's, chronic pain and effects of a near-paralyzing 2019 fall — alongside footage of his final Black Sabbath performance at Villa Park. Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at age 76, about two weeks after the last filming session and shortly after his farewell gig; his death certificate named coronary artery disease in addition to Parkinson's. He was later buried in the private grounds of their Grade II-listed Welders House. The BBC postponed an original August air date at the family's request and the documentary premiered on BBC One and iPlayer on October 2, prompting widespread emotional reactions from fans. Family members and friends reflect on Ozzy's legacy and the couple's decades-long marriage while asking for privacy following his death.
