Typhoon Bebinca Forces Flight Cancellations in Shanghai

Shanghai is preparing for Typhoon Bebinca, which is anticipated to be the most powerful storm to hit the city since 1949. All flights at Shanghai's two airports will be canceled starting at 8 p.m. local time on Sunday, and transportation services, including trains and ferries, have been suspended for safety. The China Meteorological Administration issued a red alert, predicting winds of up to 151 km/h (94 mph) and heavy rainfall as the typhoon approaches. Major tourist attractions, such as the Shanghai Disney Resort and Jinjiang Amusement Park, have also temporarily closed. In neighboring Zhejiang province, ships have been recalled, and parks are shutting down in preparation for the storm. This emergency comes just before the Mid-Autumn Festival, which typically sees millions of travelers in the region.
