Thousands Honor 9-11 Victims in Nationwide Memorials

Communities across the United States held solemn ceremonies to honor the lives lost during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the 24th anniversary of the tragedy. In Lycoming County, thousands participated in the annual 9-11 Memorial Ride, a long-standing rolling tribute where residents gathered along routes to pay their respects and celebrate resilience. Floral Park's ceremony focused on 11 local victims, featuring the tolling of church bells and the placing of roses on a memorial containing a steel beam from the World Trade Center. At Town Park Point Lookout in Hempstead, a memorial service drew over 1,000 attendees, with retired FDNY Battalion Chief Steve Marsar sharing his personal reflections on the day and emphasizing national unity. Meanwhile, Boynton Beach held a gathering of more than 200 people at Centennial Park for a moment of silence in remembrance. These events collectively highlight ongoing reverence and reflection on the impact of 9/11 within diverse communities.
