MLS launches 'Sunday Night Soccer' for 2025 season

Major League Soccer (MLS) is set to debut 'Sunday Night Soccer' in 2025 as part of its ongoing partnership with Apple, aiming to reach more viewers amidst a competitive sports landscape. This primetime matchup will feature compelling games each week, with the first match featuring San Diego FC against the LA Galaxy on February 23. All Sunday Night Soccer games will be available for free to Apple TV+ subscribers, enhancing accessibility for fans. In addition to the Sunday games, MLS will premiere an eight-part documentary series titled 'Onside: Major League Soccer' on February 21, promising insights into the league. The collaboration is part of a larger strategy to increase viewership, particularly with MLS co-hosting the World Cup in 2026. Despite the challenges of competing with NFL broadcasts, MLS is optimistic that enhanced production and dedicated programming will attract soccer fans.
