SLB Capturi, Aker Solutions secure major carbon capture contract in Oslo

SLB Capturi, in collaboration with Aker Solutions, has been awarded a significant contract by Hafslund Celsio for the delivery of a carbon capture solution at its waste-to-energy facility in Klemetsrud, Oslo. This project is part of Norway's Longship initiative, aiming to enhance carbon capture and storage capabilities. The contract includes the construction of a carbon capture plant, liquefaction system, and storage facilities, which are expected to capture 350,000 metric tons of CO2 annually. The project will utilize SLB Capturi's modularized Just Catch™ 400 unit, designed to optimize space and reduce costs. Work is set to commence in early 2025, with completion anticipated by 2029, marking a key step in reducing emissions from one of Oslo's largest carbon emitters. The collaboration represents a significant milestone in the public-private partnership model for industrial decarbonization in Norway.
