St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell stated that the facts did not warrant charges after a thorough review of the evidence. Nelly was arrested as he was collecting several jackpots, with authorities claiming they found four ecstasy pills during a search prompted by an outstanding warrant related to a 2018 citation for driving without proof of insurance. His attorney, Scott Rosenblum, argued that the search was unwarranted, claiming no such warrant check was required for gamblers. The outstanding insurance charge has since been resolved after Nelly provided proof of active insurance.
