Hy-Vee Hall to Become EMC Expo Center

Hy-Vee Hall at the Iowa Events Center will be renamed EMC Expo Center starting January 1, 2025, following a 10-year naming rights partnership with EMC Insurance. Polk County officials praised EMC Insurance for its long-standing commitment to the community, aligning with their vision for enhancing downtown Des Moines. Hy-Vee, which has sponsored the hall since its opening in 2005, chose not to renew its agreement after 20 years. In addition to this change, Wells Fargo Arena will also be rebranded as Casey's Center in July 2025. The new naming rights deals reflect a trend of local companies stepping in to support community venues as larger sponsors like Hy-Vee pivot away from such partnerships. The Polk County Board of Supervisors is set to vote on the naming rights changes soon.
