Green Day Seeks Extras for Film New Years Rev in Oklahoma City
Green Day is collaborating with Live Nation Productions on a new comedy film titled 'New Years Rev,' which follows three friends who mistakenly believe they are set to open for the band at a New Year’s show in Los Angeles. The film is set to capture the essence of Green Day's early touring days and includes a casting call for 'punks, alts, hardcore, emo, and rockers' aged 18-30 to participate in a concert scene filmed in Oklahoma City from February 24-27. One of the filming days will feature a 'rain and mud fight,' reminiscent of Green Day's infamous performance at Woodstock in 1994. The cast includes Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, Ryan Foust, and notable actors such as Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey. Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day's frontman, reflects on the film's themes of camaraderie and the electrifying experience of being in a band. Directed by Lee Kirk, the film aims to celebrate the magic of live music and the journey of young artists chasing their dreams.
