Electrician Admits to Stealing £4,000 Worth of Electricity

Electrician Leslie Pirie, 51, from Tayport, Fife, Scotland, devised an intricate scheme to steal £4,000 worth of electricity from his neighbors, Hugh and Tracy Torrance, over three years. Pirie concealed a device behind a picture frame to divert the power supply, leaving the Torrance family with unexpectedly steep bills. Following investigations, Pirie admitted to the theft and was ordered to repay the full amount in £40 monthly installments over more than eight years. The elaborate setup involved Henley blocks hidden in Pirie's property, impacting the Torrances' electricity usage without their knowledge, leading to strained neighborly relations and legal consequences.
