Prince William Honors Blue Peter Earthshot Winners at Windsor Castle

Prince William hosted a reception at Windsor Castle for the winners of the Blue Peter Earthshot competition, where young environmentalists presented their innovative sustainability ideas. Among the five winners were eight-year-old Mia from North Yorkshire, who proposed using algae ponds to clean polluted water, and Llewyn, nine, from Glasgow, who invented compostable glasses that show CO2 levels. The competition, aimed at children aged five to 15, encouraged submissions aligned with the Earthshot Prize goals which include protecting nature and combating climate change. The winners also showcased their ideas at the House of Commons, impressing members with their creativity and enthusiasm. House of Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle expressed his excitement over the children’s imaginative proposals. The Earthshot Prize, founded by Prince William in 2020, seeks to discover and support groundbreaking solutions for environmental challenges.
