Tornado damage in Oklahoma
Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes hit Oklahoma on Sunday, causing significant damage and leaving at least 11 people injured, with six requiring hospitalization. Tornadoes reportedly destroyed 39 structures and caused major damage to 43 others, resulting in over 99,000 power outages at the peak of the storms. Areas heavily impacted include Oklahoma City, Choctaw, and Newcastle, with reports of an EF-3 tornado in Harrah and an EF-1 tornado in Newcastle. As restoration efforts begin, power companies have managed to restore service to about 58% of those affected. The National Weather Service continues to monitor the situation, warning residents of additional severe weather expected in the coming days. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported as of the latest updates.
