Man Extradited From Netherlands To Northern Ireland Over Child Sex Offences

A 40-year-old man has been extradited from the Netherlands to Northern Ireland to face trial over more than 130 child sexual offence charges related to incidents in Lurgan in 2014. The charges include possessing, making, and distributing indecent images of children, as well as inciting the sexual assault of a child. The man had skipped Crown Court bail in late 2020 and had been evading arrest since. The extradition was carried out through close cooperation between the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Child Internet Protection Team, the National Crime Agency, and Dutch authorities. He is expected to appear before Lisburn Magistrates’ Court shortly after his return. Police emphasized that this case underlines their commitment to tracking down offenders internationally and ensuring those who breach bail conditions are brought to justice.
