Premier Lacrosse League Launches Women's Lacrosse League

The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced the launch of the Women's Lacrosse League (WLL), set to debut in February 2025 during the PLL Championship Series. The league will feature a six-on-six format, also adopted for the upcoming 2028 Olympics, and will consist of four teams made up of top women’s lacrosse players, including Charlotte North and Izzy Scane. The announcement follows a history of unsuccessful women's professional leagues, highlighting the PLL's commitment to elevating women's lacrosse. Meanwhile, the University of Denver and Boston College women's lacrosse teams have released their 2025 schedules, showcasing competitive matchups and aspirations to maintain strong performances. Additionally, WashU's Women’s Club Lacrosse team will join a formal league to improve game scheduling and increase opportunities for competition. This collective momentum indicates a growing recognition and investment in women's lacrosse across different levels.
