New Anaconda Comedy Film Casts Newton, Zahn, Mello

The upcoming comedic reimagining of the 1997 horror film 'Anaconda' has added Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn to its cast, joining previously confirmed stars Paul Rudd and Jack Black. Directed by Tom Gormican, the film centers on a group of friends facing mid-life crises as they attempt to remake their favorite movie from their youth, only to encounter life-threatening challenges in the rainforest, including natural disasters and giant snakes. Newton and Zahn will portray childhood friends who accompany Rudd and Black, while Selton Mello plays a Brazilian animal wrangler and Ione Skye is cast as Black's character's wife. The film is currently in production in Australia and is set to be released on December 25, 2025. The original 'Anaconda' film, which starred Jennifer Lopez and Jon Voight, became a surprise hit, spawning a franchise. This new version aims to blend comedy with adventure in a fresh take on the classic story.
