19-Year-Old Charged in New Bedford Shooting

A 19-year-old suspect, Danielson Varela, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and multiple firearm offenses following a fatal shooting at the Morna Lounge and Grill in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The incident occurred early Saturday morning, resulting in three victims being transported to St. Luke's Hospital. Cristiano Macedo, a 27-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the hospital, while two female victims in their 20s sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Bristol County District Attorney's Office, along with the Massachusetts State Police, is actively investigating the case. Varela is expected to be arraigned in New Bedford District Court. Authorities have yet to release further details about the investigation.
