Indiana University junior outfielder Devin Taylor became the program's all-time home run leader with his 48th career homer in a game against Maryland. Taylor broke a record previously shared by Alex Dickerson, Mike Smith, and Mike Sabo, hitting a 413-foot home run to center field, marking his 12th homer of the season. Despite Indiana's disappointing season and a heavy loss to Maryland, Taylor has stood out with a .365 batting average, 42 RBIs, and multiple top-10 all-time rankings at IU, including runs scored and slugging percentage. Head coach Jeff Mercer praised Taylor’s consistent excellence, noting that the achievement reflects sustained high-level performance over several seasons. Taylor, a former top Ohio prospect and Big Ten Freshman of the Year, is widely projected to be a first-round pick in the upcoming MLB Draft.
