Russian Drone Attacks Kill 13 Injure 30 Across Multiple Ukraine Regions

Russian forces have continued their aggressive attacks across multiple regions of Ukraine, resulting in numerous civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure. On May 17, shelling in the Donetsk region killed one person and injured eight, including attacks with FPV drones on Yablunivka and Andriyivska communities, with other injuries reported in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd. A massive drone assault involving 62 drones targeted several Ukrainian regions overnight, killing at least 13 people and injuring 32, with Ukrainian air defenses managing to shoot down 36 of the drones. Notably, a drone strike on a passenger bus near Bilopillia, Sumy Oblast, killed nine and injured seven, prompting days of mourning and calls from President Zelenskyy for stronger international sanctions against Russia. Additional attacks on Konstantinovka and Kupiansk resulted in fatalities and injuries, with various types of UAVs and guided bombs used across contested areas. Despite ongoing peace talks, Russia has rejected calls for a ceasefire, while Ukrainian authorities continue evacuation efforts amid persistent shelling and drone strikes.
