Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Steak Dinner Stabbing

Andrew Horsman, 41, was arrested and charged with murder after fatally stabbing his mother's longtime boyfriend, Paul Pomerleau, 66, during a family steak dinner in Middleborough, Massachusetts. The attack, which followed an argument about steaks and ongoing tensions regarding Horsman's unemployment, involved Horsman stabbing Pomerleau 12 to 17 times without warning. After the stabbing, Horsman doused Pomerleau's body with lighter fluid, was restrained by another family member, and then fled the scene. Police responded to multiple 911 calls and apprehended Horsman near the residence without incident. Horsman’s attorney argued that years of domestic and verbal abuse contributed to the violence, characterizing it as a response to longstanding family conflict rather than a random act.
