Apple Home Expands Support for Robot Vacuums with iOS 18.4

The release of Apple’s iOS 18.4 introduces significant updates for robot vacuum users, enabling control and integration of Matter-compatible devices directly through the Apple Home app. Major brands such as Roborock, iRobot, and Ecovacs are rolling out firmware updates to ensure compatibility. Roborock will enhance Matter support for several models, including the S8 MaxV Ultra and various Saros and Qrevo lines, with updates scheduled between April 1 and April 10. iRobot's Roomba Combo 10 Max will also become the first of its line to support Matter, allowing users to manage cleaning through the Home app or via Siri. Ecovacs is updating its popular models, including Deebot X2 and X8, to fully support Matter as well. This integration aims to create a seamless smart home experience across different platforms like Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
