Body of Missing Man Cumali Turhan Found

The body of 46-year-old Cumali Turhan has been found in a Colchester landfill following a 45-day police search, initiated after he was reported missing on November 18, 2024. Turhan was last seen at The Globe pub in Chelmsford, and although he may have visited another establishment, CCTV footage does not confirm his exit. Essex Police have identified the body and have informed the victim's family. The investigation is ongoing, with Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe leading efforts to locate a suspect, Ceyhan Dinler, who allegedly fled the UK on the same day Turhan was last in contact. Another suspect, Ciprian Ilie, has been charged with assisting an offender and preventing the lawful burial of a body, but he pleaded not guilty in court. Police continue to appeal for information regarding the case.
