Two Officers Injured in Smyrna Gun Store Shooting

Two Smyrna police officers were injured, and a suspect was killed during a burglary at Adventure Outdoors gun store in Cobb County, Georgia. The incident occurred just after midnight when officers responded to a 911 call about a burglary in progress. The suspect, armed with a rifle, initiated gunfire, prompting officers to return fire and fatally shoot him. The two injured officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is conducting an independent investigation into the officer-involved shooting. Cobb County officers were also on the scene, but none were injured.
