Vancouver Airport Welcomes T'way Air Inaugural Seoul Flights
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) became the first airport in North America to welcome regular service from South Korean low-cost carrier T'way Air, which launched four weekly flights between Vancouver and Seoul on July 12, 2025. The route, operated with an Airbus 330-300, offers 347 seats including lie-flat Business Saver options, and is expected to carry about 2,700 passengers weekly. This new service not only increases travel options for passengers and connectivity to Asia-Pacific markets but also boosts cargo capacity, supporting British Columbia and Canada's export economy; South Korea is YVR's second-largest air export destination. The route is projected to generate nearly $40 million in economic output and create 237 full-time jobs in the province. British Columbia Premier David Eby highlighted the flight's role in strengthening economic ties with South Korea, Canada's fourth largest trading partner, while YVR President Tamara Vrooman emphasized its strategic importance for trade, connectivity, and supply chain resilience. T'way Air CEO Sang Yoon Lee described the service as a meaningful bridge connecting people, culture, and economic opportunities between Canada and South Korea.
