Wales Midfielder Sophie Ingle Leaves Chelsea After 11 Trophies

Sophie Ingle, a 33-year-old Welsh midfielder and five-time Women's Super League winner, will leave Chelsea at the end of her contract this summer after two spells with the club. She has won 11 domestic trophies with Chelsea, including five WSL titles, three FA Cups, two League Cups, and the Community Shield, and was a UEFA Women's Champions League runner-up in 2020/2021. Ingle, who has made 214 appearances and scored 12 goals for Chelsea, has not played this season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in a pre-season match against Feyenoord. Chelsea's head of women's football, Paul Green, praised Ingle's leadership and contributions on and off the pitch, acknowledging she will be missed but supporting her desire to explore new playing opportunities once fully fit.
