Multiple Bridge, River, Safety Projects Begin July 14 in US Communities

Several infrastructure and safety projects are set to begin across the U.S. starting July 14, aiming to improve transportation and pedestrian safety. In Reno, the Regional Transportation Commission will conduct preventative maintenance on University Way and fully close the Evans Avenue bridge as part of their 2025 Bridge Maintenance Project. Missoula is initiating erosion control efforts along the Clark Fork River by installing fences and restoring riverbanks to protect fish habitats and water quality, with additional hardened access points planned for August. In Las Vegas, following a fatal pedestrian accident near Arbor View High School, construction has started on a pedestrian-activated flasher and additional safety measures like new signage and crosswalk repainting are underway, supported by a parent-led safety group. Nebraska will begin bridge girder and bent repairs on Highway 40 near Miller, maintaining traffic with restrictions anticipated to last until September 2025. These projects collectively address critical transportation maintenance, environmental conservation, and pedestrian safety concerns.
